There is a tragic human dichotomy now playing out at flashpoints of the climate emergency, one between those personally traumatized by the calamity playing out, and those far removed who continue to preach Business As Usual, as if actual events are hyped-up conspiracies, mere figments of radical imaginations. The former are experiencing a living hell, losing house, home, land, possessions both material and mental, pets, animals, livelihoods, and even lives; the latter shutter themselves in their privileged enclaves and make blithe pronouncements from their ivory towers.
